Worth every deCENT!

Backstory to today's (6/12/09) Rhyme of Passion: My feeling that finding truly decent people to work with, to be associated with in life is putting your self with exceptional people. My belief is not that "decentness" equals greatness, but decency is about fairness and exceptional people- people who offer others opportunity to shine, succeed, be themselves, etc.- are, if nothing else, fair minded.

Do i want to work with, link-up with brilliant technology guys, incredible designers, artists and overall thought enablers? (FYI- thought leadership is so yesterday) the answer is yes! But not at the expense of them not being decent.  Decency, like it's sister, integrity is non-negotiable. Because while, you can be functionally good at something and become great at it by sweat investment, decent people are or aren't. Simply, you don't see many grow into fair mindedess or more enabling of others, you see most, if anything, go the other way. It's like the quote "absolute power currupts absolutely"...greed, selfishness unless countered, really leveled by decentness is a crap shoot at best.

So like the headline reads, finding decent people, at any age, in any industry or in any part of life...is a huge difference maker and worth more than just about anything else. Trust me and them on this!!!

About Cliff

It's about 1 to 10 and one per day. No, not the scale, or the odds or even the prison sentence, but a different kind of measure… I have One year until my Ten year anniversary of surviving a near fatal heart attack. Given I made through rheumatic heart decease as a kid and have been a insulin dependent diabetic for years, it's a special time and there's no way I'm not going to celebrate just how special it is and how lucky I am!
