I wrote today's "Daily Rhyme of Passion" (is this an oxymoron-today's/daily??) about coming to "our senses" pretty soon after my open heart surgery in early 2000. I had a lot of time to reflect on how to experience the world moving forward and what i would need to do to get (and give) the most out of life. The notion that when we are able to find a way to deal with, to manage all the stress, all the pressure, all the burdens of everyday life and "come to our senses" we can do and experience wonderful things...like seeing things we might not see, hearing things we might not hear, etc.
Do i live this out? All the time? No way. Not even close. But the photo below-taken a week or so after my surgery-of "pale boy" and my wife's beautiful smiling face, is a great reminder that love, support and togetherness is enough to bring anyone to their senses!
