Clearly not everything we do in life is a big deal. We may try to make it "big", but in most of our lives, we have way more what i'll call "mild-stones" than ultra defining, truly memorable "mile-stone" events. That's life, literally.
My daughter's Sweet 16 was the latter for me. Really because of two reasons. First, she and her many friends had a great, unforgettable time together! It wasn't at an event site or cost a lot of money- they "hung out and in" our Apt. in the city, but they all hung together! And the second reason, I was there with my wife Josana to put it on and experience it with Sam. So like today's Rhyme of Passion (ROP) insight- pls see Home Page- not being there would have been a real piece of "unfinished business"!
Now i am not going to get into all my other "pieces of business" finished or hoping to finish- now that surviving my heart attack's 10th anniversary is only 339 days away-hey, it's on the daily counter! But given today's ROP, which was written from the POV of dealing with life's regret, as well as, gratitude, i would like to mention one person-a person who actually does have something to do with today's sentiment from many sides- the business and the "unfinished business side". He is someone i have a never ending heart felt sense of gratitude, as well as, regret that i have not talked to or seen this person recently.
His name is J. Robert Hall. He is an exceptional man-and you can put just about any defining word in front of man and he's that exceptional man- business-man, family-man, caring-man! I was fortunate to have met Robert when we were both at Nabisco. He was President (and i clearly wasn't, kidding!). After we both left and i was looking for guidance-financial and business-to launch my kid's character/development company, i re-connected with Robert and introduced him to Gary, my then partner. My point is simply, Robert didn't need to jump into this world. But he did. He put forth resources of all kinds and he put himself in it...like the Fortune 500 company he was helping to run at Nabisco.
It was my GOOD, make that GREAT fortune to have met and clearly benefited by knowing J. Robert Hall. All i am saying is special people in our lives need to be remembered and reminded for being special...otherwise it could leave a lot of, well, unfinished business!
