Today's ROP (4/22/09) i wrote weeks after my "event" and is the single most asked question by virtually everyone who learns of my story from family, friends, the site or from me "is how did it feel"..."like almost dying"? My common, not sarcastic response is i was more busy worry about staying alive and trying to breath (and awake) before the ambulance and then at the hospital with the morphine, i really wasn't worrying about anything.
The real answer on reflection is what i said in the sentiment- the more happy, loving, giving, sharing, supporting, experiencing, trying, be-friending or simply said, not leaving that much on the table, the more likely one is to be happy at their moment of truth. It's the "life well lived" reality VS the "coulda/shoulda" sensibility. I have come to believe "dying happy" is much better than dying not.
So go for it...daily!!!
