Happy Friday the 13th, Happy Valentine's Day, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. As luck would have it this year- one of the unluckiest years in years and the unluckliest day of the year lines-up to the most loving day on the calender. Lucky in Love, not so much, not this year, not for many of us. But, I am a huge believer in "opposites attract"...i think it is the way of the world, maybe even the way of the universe. Things that just don't make sense together, are perfect, just wonderful together. It's all ying and yang, the natural forces at work to find balance, to create harmony, especially when there isn't.
So this year, of all years, it makes all the sense in the Universe that Friday the 13th sets the table for Valentine's Day. With everything so out of wack and so many out of work, it seems forces bigger than marketing- specifically, but not limited to non-stop e-mails- are working hard to bring home the love. Don't get me wrong (please, not today) I am sure every high end chocolate company, every local florist, every local French hot spot are really feeling it. No-one in this economy gets off, not this year. It's the balance thing.
But this much i know sitting here on Friday the 13th, love is in the air. The calander lies for no-one, love is less than one day away. This is no accident. Forces bigger than any us have been working it for a while. It's not about opptimisty eyed people like me, trying to balance all the negative energy. It's about nature, flowers and the joy of being part of it all. Today, like tomorrow, like the day after try to remember to smell the roses or maybe the less expensive "mixed bunch". But then again, they're all on sale everyday...as long as you still have a nose or a SS number or some other type of vital sign (if you know my story or me at all...you know i know, please).
So before you leave your house or Apt. and your own F. the 13th "freak show" starts in full, take a deep breath! It probably won't be your last, but take it anyway!
And to you, my beautiful lovely Josana, Happy Valentine's Day...we're starting early!
