Drops of Love!

A poem i wrote about support and being there for kids with diabetes...

Drops of Love

Grown-ups are ready
Ready I know
To deal with a world
Filled with highs and real lows

A different story
I know for the kids
Shots to their bodies
And all they must miss

Feeling sorry...
Not what they need
Support, understanding
Good thoughts to believe

Good thoughts to believe
A friend to hold
Someone who'll listen
Someone who knows

Someone who'll be there
Morning to night
To help with all
The anger and fright

I know quite well
How tough this task...
The daily grind
How long will it last?

Beyond today...
Before the cure
Help these kids
To feel secure

Help me help them
Feel the love
And not the Daily
Drops of blood.

While, I am an insulin dependant diabetic, I’m also a kid’s marketer and advocate.  With testing easier and better than ever and all the wonderful support available at every turn, kids with diabetes can truly live, act and feel pretty normal. Now how good is that!

About Cliff

It's about 1 to 10 and one per day. No, not the scale, or the odds or even the prison sentence, but a different kind of measure… I have One year until my Ten year anniversary of surviving a near fatal heart attack. Given I made through rheumatic heart decease as a kid and have been a insulin dependent diabetic for years, it's a special time and there's no way I'm not going to celebrate just how special it is and how lucky I am!
