Speaking about doing Good
The Adam Walsh Children's Fund and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
Throughout the 90's up to my heart attack, i served on the Board of the Directors of NCMEC-one of the finest kid's charities in the world. I developed a grassroots child safety parental education seminar and did nearly 70 "small town" meetings.
One other specific contribution to child safety education/awareness worth mentioning is having created Child Safety Awareness Day with Major League Baseball teams including the Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Rangers, Braves, etc. Working with John Walsh, we got the teams to give away-instead of another Cap Day or Bat Day-great posters featuring a star player with real child safety information at the ball-parks. We found very willing sponsors and got great media support in each market. If ever there was a feel good and good feeling story, this was it!
